Protecting the Health, Safety and Welfare of the Community . . . Especially, Grateful, Seeing My ASS Is Parked Across the Street From the Motel, Shoot Out--At The Poverello!
I saw this statement on a cup, looked like it was a personal message to a guy, named, PETE, with these words and the definition of the word, STRONG, that I think applies here:
Meaning of the Word Strong
You're a knight in armor, you're truly gallant--It's your fearless courage that makes you valiant. You defend your beliefs without any delay, and never yield to others 'til you get your way. Because your so confident, noble and strong, POWER will be with you throughout your life long.
Good Cops Don't Need to Stage a Flash-Bang, High Drama Show--There is Enough, High Drama Crime, to Make All Good Cops Heroes!
My little tough chick friend Annie, was talking to her mother, who, I believe she said, saw the drama at the Citi Lodge Motel, here in Missoula, with the shoot out, happening across from the Poverello--where her daughter is staying, was, now . . . seeing it from Ohio, or she told her about the events of the day, but mom, suggested she get her ass, probably not the words mom used, but, back to the farm, where it was safer. You know, I have been on a true crime watch blitz, lately to get to the bottom of what happened to me, learning a ton of tips, about personality types, like sociopaths and psychopaths, who just don't fucking think like you and I do, but, I am always, taken, by the small town cops, used to an Andy of Mayberry, quiet, peaceful, town, in the middle of nowhere, with little crime and certainly not, a homicide. And when a crime at the level of a homicide happens, not only does it rock the citizens, living in the town, but the cops themselves, having to rise to the occasion, and they do! Some cops, without training, background, prior experience, understanding of the latest and greatest in technology, and just through, gut instincts, hard core police work, pounding the pavements, going over reports one more time, re-interview, that witness just one more time, or, being, inspired, through some strange, piece of evidence, and then through, dogged determination, solve a crime, murder, or other crimes, like human body trafficking, or busting up a kiddie porn ring! That is strong, that is staying power! And it happens on the streets across the of America and across the globe, on a daily basis, every day, thank GOD! KISSES AND HUGS, for keeping us safe!
Co
I am however, going to make an observation, and comment, that, those detectives, that are called in, generally with more experience, training, and knowledge, due to longevity on the job, are just as fat as I am, goes with the territory, the beat cops are out, getting in and out of doughnut shops--just kidding--out of their squad cars, running after criminals, giving tickets, and taking 911 and emergency calls, but, the detectives, they sit on their asses, some as long as me, for 20 years, bringing a crime, all together for the department, so, you, shallow cops, when you see, a seasoned attorney, like myself, cut me and your detectives some slack, because we don't have physical jobs, we have desk jobs, mentally challenging jobs, and long hours of sitting on our asses, sometimes, for days--I sat at my computer, for fucking 72 hours straight, writing my briefs for the Brock securities case, only getting up, long enough to get a Diet Coke and stretch my legs!, but, the mental can be as strenuous as the physical work you do we are just exercising, different muscles and parts of our bodies! LOL!
I just had to put that in . . . anyway, thank you, MPD, for all the good cop work you did last night, it appeared to take hours to process the crime scene . . . I got to the Pov about 6:30 P.M. and it took, until about 9:30 P.M. to finish the work, on a night, I believe, some cops, off the clock or should have been by late night, would rather be, home near a fire, with their wives and children! So, thanks, for the unsung sacrifices, time, and effort! That is at least, 7 to 8 hours, out in the cold, and it started to snow, late afternoon, while I was at the doughnut shop!
Cop Shop Temptation . . . Access, Power, Greed
This is the cop, that was like the one above, who staged a dramatic ending to his own, cowardly life, of lies, deceit and deception, always, always, always, at the hands of the cops, tempting them, go cross over to the Darth Vadar side of the law . . . just the flip sides of the coin, from the criminal, but, given all the credibility, respect, of wearing a badge, carrying a gun, suggesting, trust, confidence, and faith, that, with all that society, has given you, by way of respect, you will do the right thing, no matter, how hard, and tempting, the access, the lust for power, and the opportunities, to satisfy, that old, American sickness of, American greed. Many of us, have seen movies, where dirty cops, take money under the table, or take drugs themselves for personal use, or to sell, out of evidence rooms, or can gain, access to court documents, and use them, to cover a murder, like a true crime episode, I saw, last week, where the cop got another person's divorce documents, and copied them, just changing the names, to his and his wife's names, and forging the signature of the judge, then collecting on his wife's insurance policy, to support his second, illegal wife, and in furtherance of the crime, also, poisoned his mother-in-law, who was living with, the cop and his wife of 27 years! And, it was, cop shop talk, with a passing, statement, made by this dirty cop, that led another cop, to take his suspicions to other cops, who were getting more and more suspicious of certain, activities of this cops, his frequent trips, to the neighboring town, having been married to this second wife, bigamy, illegal, and he had been married to her for two years!
There are few professions, that give a person, more access than cops . . . so there has to be constant, ethics, training, professional responsibility, and good examples, of just good old, hard core, cops, just doing their jobs, every day, the daily grind, but doing it with style and grace, which is like magic, in and of itself, developing theories over time, that guide and direct, cops, nationwide, on jobs well done, if it is done right! Most jobs are like that, and, it is plugging away, following policy, department rules, sometimes back breaking and boring, but, hard work, always, pays off, and when it does, is when the flash-bang, the guts and glory, all collide, to make true cop heroes and legends! That is at the hands and fingertips, of every cops out there, you don't have to create it, if you do your job, right, I promise, the great cases, the legend making cases, the hero cases, will gravitate in your direction, and it is almost a universal, draw . . . and you will be called to rise to the occasion, reaching into the very bottom of your soul, digging into the store of resilience, strength, inner power, that it takes, to solve some of these crimes, that are complicated, twisted, done by psychopaths, that, are intelligent, and simply don't think, like normal people, they feed on what they see as lower, animals on a food chain, rather than people with feelings, hurts, hearts, and families, who will mourn for them!
I see, hard core, crusty old cops, on these shows, break down and cry, dedicate, time, effort and sometimes risking their own, family relationships, health, and their very lives, to stop crimes . . . and that is dedication and pure, PERFECTION! And as heart breaking, as telling a family about a dead child, there is something healing, in closing a case, writing the last chapter, and helping families, know someone is there for them, someone cares about their missing child, or loved one, and then, the family can move on, as hard as that is--without closure, sometimes that can't happen . . . I see, having never, thought as much about it before, watching these shows, about the collateral damage, crimes create in the lives of immediate and extended family members, friends, co-workers, lovers! The changed lives, even possible suicides of people who can't deal with the loss, or can't move on, when a loved one, so significant to their well being, to their very existence, like a mother or father, going missing or dead, and just how, extremely devastating that loss can be. And the collateral damage, can effect generations . . . with, people so shocked, injured, really, almost destroyed by the thought, of what happened to someone they loved, someone, they think they should have, could have, protected, never dreaming that 5 seconds, being out of their sight, meant a kidnapped or dead child.
Some people will never recover, and when they go down, they take families, children, businesses, they take generations with them, protecting the health, safety and welfare, of a community, is critical to the health, mental health of the whole collective, town, state or national welfare and health of all of us . . . collective conscience, we all can be psychically raped, leaving all of us, feeling hurt, violated, and damaged, with an horrendous crime, like a serial killer, bleeding out, the happiness and goodness, safety, of us all, taking away our innocence!
