KIDS IN LIMBO
There is a great group of young mothers, I think in Texas, under this name . . . a beautiful, young mother of two, wondering how she would feel, if she were separated from her children, and how the kids, her kids would feel if they were separated from her, started this group, of mothers, lost my notes, or can't find her name, something, VAN, something, dark hair, gorgeous . . . but her work, is even more beautiful, she and some friends, found a female, inmate in the detention centers, an immigrant, being treated as a criminal for crossing the border to give her kids a better life in America, only to be put in jail . . . the group, raised about, $25,000 to pay for this woman's bail, and to track down her child, in New York, then, paid for her plane flight, and reunified, her with her teenage son! So, awesome! So many people contacted the group, that they were able to, take on, somewhere up to 14 or so women, doing exactly the same thing, every time to help, families be united. Often the dad, stayed in wherever, and works and sends the wife and kids, money to get them situated with family, friends, relatives.
The MSNBC newscaster, asked, this young mother, what, college age kids, who don't really know how to help, could do to get involved . . . the very first thing she said was, to VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It does make a difference who is in office, who stays in office, and who, messes things up for the rest of us, and, has policies that are brutal and cruel! Just the other day, a democrat, and some bipartisan, representatives, got together, and passed, a bill, that, would, bring, the interpreters who, were the only, witnesses, to the Trump/Putin secret meeting, to come testify before, Congress, so we could know . . . the GOP voted, it down! Here is a list of things, that, students, can do, that don't have much money and time:
- FIRST AND FOREMOST, GET OUT AND VOTE, TAKE YOUR FRIENDS, DRIVE PEOPLE TO THE POLLS, THE MID-TERM ELECTION ARE THE FIRST WEEK IN NOVEMBER AND THAT IS RACING TOWARDS US!
- get out into your communities, because, immigrants and their children, are being housed, jailed, and detained all over the country! Be the one who finds them!
- there are many groups, from governors, to mayors, who are helping and need help, with immigrant families, caught in the Trump "Zero Tolerance" for Immigrants or people with brown skin . . . he isn't going after Asians, who have more immigrants, or people with light skin, like Russians and his wife . . . the ACLU is also, all over the country, and doing stuff the reunite the families
- you can always, donate, $5, $10, $15 because, every little dime helps . . . it costs, attorneys, social workers, and volunteers to do what they do!
- this group, is posting bail, for these mothers, who will plead to anything to get back with their kids . . . there is probably, some group, maybe even a clone of KIDS IN LIMBO, that can direct you to other services, you can volunteer for . . . there are still thousands of kids, without their parents!
- again, VOTE. VOTE. VOTE. VOTE. THIS NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED! IF WE CAN'T GET CONGRESS TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT, SAVE US FROM, INSANE LEADERS WHO WANT TO BE AUTOCRATS AND PROVE THEY ARE TOUGH, TO OTHER AUTOCRATS, THEN, THE ONLY CHANCE WE HAVE IT TO ELECT DEMOCRATS IN THE FALL, THE BLUE WAVE AND KICK, TRUMP'S ASS OUT OF OFFICE . . . LAPD SWAT, ROCKED, A SCARY SITUATION, YESTERDAY, STARTING WITH A DOMESTIC CALL, DUDE SHOT HIS GRANDMA AND HIS GIRLFRIEND, THEY GAVE COPS CHASE, THROUGH HOLLYWOOD, TO SILVER LAKE--SAY CHEESE, INTER CITY ART, TO TRADER JOE'S GROCERY STORE, WHERE THE MAN, HAD HIS INJURED GIRLFRIEND IN THE CAR, AND SMASHED INTO A PHONE POLE, RAN INTO THE STORE, AND WAS THOUGHT TO HAVE TAKEN HOSTAGES . . . BUT, THERE WAS OPEN GUN FIRE BETWEEN, SWAT AND THE GUNMAN . . . SWAT, IN SOMETHING I HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE, DO, HAD, ABOUT, 6 OR MORE OFFICER, PROTECTED, BEHIND, AN SUV, BLACK AND WHITE, VEHICLE, FOR COVER, AND THE DRIVER, SLOWLY MOVED THE VEHICLE DOWN TO MOVE WITH THE GUNMAN, AS HE EXCHANGED FIRE--VERY SMART. JIM CAVANAUGH, A FORMER, ATF, ALCOHOL TOBACCO AND FIREARMS, NEGOTIATOR, SAID, THAT, THE MAN, WAS, AN EMOTIONAL WRECK, THIS WAS NOT PLANNED, HE WAS RUNNING, JACKED UP ON EMOTIONS FROM THE FIGHT, BUT SWAT, WAS COOL, CALM AND COLLECTED, DOING JUST WHAT THEY ARE TRAINED TO DO . . . LOCATE. ISOLATE. EVACUATE. ELIMINATE THE THREAT! IT WAS A TACTICAL ASSAULT ON THE GUNMAN . . . THE GOOD THING WAS, HOSTAGES, WERE SLOWLY RELEASED, OVER ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF, WITH, COPS, RUNNING IN, THE STORE, AT THE RISK OF THEIR LIVES, GRABBING KIDS, AND PEOPLE IN THEIR ARMS AND RUNNING THEM TO SAFETY . . . WAY COOL!
THIS UNPLANNED, GUNMAN AND THE SWAT, REALLY, WAS A GREAT TRAINING ON WHAT TO DO AND WHAT TO EXPECT, IN THIS TYPE OF SITUATION! DOMESTICS ARE THE MOST DANGEROUS CALLS, A COP WILL GET, BECAUSE, THERE ARE CHARGED EMOTIONS, FROM A FIGHT, BUT THE VICTIM, WILL OFTEN TURN ON THE COPS, WHO ARE TAKING AWAY THEIR LOVER, WIFE, HUSBAND, BOYFRIEND OR GIRLFRIEND! SOME HAVE BEEN SHOT AND STABBED IN THE BACK, TRYING TO PROTECT THE VICTIM! CHILDREN ARE OFTEN PRESENT, THAT CAN, AMP UP THE CHARGES, AGAINST THE PERP AND THE VIC! DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN THE PRESENCE OF A CHILD!
THE COPS DID AN AMAZING JOB, OF READING THE SITUATION, THE GIRLFRIEND WAS IN THE CAR, AND FIRE ENGINE #21, SET UP A TRIAGE, TO TREAT VICTIMS, SHE WAS, INJURED AND TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL . . . THE COPS, GOT MOST OF THE HOSTAGES OUT, OF SECOND FLOOR BATHROOMS, AND OTHER AREAS . . . THE GUNMAN TO HIS CREDIT, RELEASED, MANY OF THEM TOO, TELLING THEM TO GO HOME! BUT, THE COPS DON'T KNOW OF THE GUNMAN IS INJURED, WILL TAKE ONE OR MORE HOSTAGE, TO PROTECT HIMSELF, AND TO ESCAPE, OR IF HE IS, OR CAN BE TALKED DOWN, AFTER THE LAPD, MOST CROSS-TRAINED, TO BE BOTH SWAT, ASSAULT TACTICAL SPECIALISTS, AND NEGOTIATORS TOO, ENDING THE ESCALATION IN A PEACEFUL MANNER, OR IS THE PERSON, SO AFRAID OF WHAT THEY DID, AND THE CHARGES, THAT THE WILL DO WHAT IS CALLED, "SUICIDE BY COP" COME OUT IN A THREATENING WAY, SO THE COPS, HAVE TO SHOOT HIM, JUST TO KEEP OTHERS AND THEMSELVES SAFE?
THE COPS HAD THE MAN, BARRICADED AND BEHIND A WALL, BUT, THEY WERE STILL NOT SURE, WHAT WAS GOING ON . . . AT ONE POINT, AND ABOUT THE TIME MY COMPUTER, TURNED OFF, AT THE GREENWOOD LIBRARY, ALL THE HOSTAGES, WERE OUT OF THE BUILDING AND IT LOOKED AS IF, THERE WOULD BE A PEACEFUL, NEGOTIATION WITH THE MAN, GIVING HIMSELF UP!
SAD TO SAY, WE HURT THE ONES WE LOVE, AND NOBODY CAN PISS US OFF MORE, OR WHO KNOWS OUR BUTTONS, MORE THAN, SOMEONE WE LOVE, AND WHO LOVES US!
THE COPS HAD, FAMILY REUNIFICATION STATIONS AT THE COP SHOP OR THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, AND, BOTH THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND COPS WERE INVOLVED, WITH HOSTAGES, COMING OUT OF THE TOP WINDOWS!
I THOUGHT THIS WAS REALLY COOL . . . SOMEONE RAN IN AND TOLD EMPLOYEES ON THE SECOND FLOOR, IN THE BREAK ROOM, THAT THERE WAS A GUNMAN, AND TO RUN FOR COVER . . . SEVERAL OF THEM, RAN TO A NEARBY, RESTROOM AND LOCKED THEMSELVES IN THE ROOM--NOW THIS SHOWED, BOTH SMART EMPLOYEES, AND COPS . . . THE COPS, CAME UP ON THE SECOND FLOOR, AND WHISPERED THROUGH THE DOOR, TO COME OUT . . . THE EMPLOYEES, ASKED FOR A BADGE OR PROOF THAT THEY WERE REALLY THE COPS!!!!! THAT IS BRILLIANT, BECAUSE, IT COULD, HAVE BEEN THE GUNMAN, TAKING, THEM HOSTAGE! LUCKILY, THE COPS, HAD A FLASHLIGHT, THAT THEY SHINED UNDER THE DOOR TO PROVE THEY WERE PREPARED FOR A RESCUE, AND ALSO, CONTINUED TO WHISPER, WHAT TO DO THROUGH THE DOOR!
VERY SMART, COMMUNITY OF COPS AND, PEOPLE, THEY STAYED CALM, IN A VOLATILE SITUATION THAT COULD HAVE BEEN, HORRENDOUS, HAD, ONE PART OF THE SWAT TEAM, LET DOWN, OR LET THINGS GET OUT OF CONTROL!

Remember, however, that charisma may often distract you from important, unglamorous priorities, such as caring for kids and doing your share of domestic dirty work, and that your partner's perspective may help balance your life, even as it deflates, your ego and kills your party buzz. Instead of valuing your partnerships by how well it contributes to social success, list your other priorities and imagine yourself single.
Create a job/spouse description that covers your most important obligations as well as the things you enjoy doing. Then determine your partner's contributions and ask yourself whether she does jobs that you don't like doing and allows you to do what you're good at.
Yes, you need a partner who accepts your charisma-driven socializing, but you, may also benefit from her efforts to limit your social activities, pull you away, and engage you in other obligations. Don't overreach to her criticism and disrespect until you first look at her overall influence on the life you want to lead.
Perhaps, the worst-case scenario, when you love a charismatic person, is to discover he's a cold hearted manipulator whose need to attract and influence people far exceeds his honesty or ability to keep a commitment. He feels good only when, he's charming people (which he can do without effort) and can't stand it when he's not. He compulsively feels you what you want to hear and can't tell the truth if he knows it will upset you or even when it doesn't matter, because it's a habit he can't break.
Like the compulsive seducer, the con man is addicted to his own charisma, but unlike a decent person who sometimes goes too far, the harm he causes doesn't bother him as much as being found out and criticized does, which makes him want to fool you even more to further protect his bullshit from being exposed. Although few people can cause you as much harm as a con man, it's not personal. He will say--and truly believe--that he let you down because you don't believe in him or because unavoidable circumstances prevented him from keeping his promises. That's what makes him, technically, an Asshole who can't be helped by shrinks or anyone else. In his mind, his problems are always someone else's fault. (Trump!)
People who love a con man will often rationalize that he just needs professional help and lament that he won't accept it. In truth, professional help has nothing to offer him. A shrink can help his victims and relatives, however, by reminding them that the damage they experience isn't personal, trying to get through to the Asshole or save him will only make it worse, and protecting themselves is a far more important priority.
Charisma can generate excitement and success in a marriage or family, but a spark is not a stable thing on which to build a marriage; charisma also bears a special risk of addiction, disloyalty, and deception. What you hope is that your charismatic partner's character is strong enough to make you relationship worthwhile and, sometimes, to make change possible.
What you must accept, unfortunately, is that charismatic people sometimes lack the strength for commitment and your relationship will be dangerous and always on the brink of combustion. Understanding the risks and the benefits of charisma can help you deal with its influence, guide you toward constructive management, and, helpfully, keep things from blowing up or burning out.

LOL.

About every 5 years, I think I need to find someone to get old with and sit and hold hands on the front porch with, watching the sunset . . . then, I get one, and, find out I was happier, single, and dump their sorry, schmucky asses, then, they want to kill me! LOL.

A strong person learns how to manage charisma, whether she has it or her spouse does, without its affecting their integrity or weakening her relationships. A weak person, however, runs into problems without realizing that the personal charm that attracts many kinds of good luck has also burdened her with distractions, unusual responsibilities, and intense temptations. Your burden, when confronting charisma in yourself or someone else, is to be carefully selective in spite of felling extra attracted, understood, and special. Then you'll know whether you can tame the risks of charisma, bear the temptations it creates, and use it to enrich your life and the life your build with someone else.
