NATIVE AMERICAN TALE OF SQUAW BRAVERY, THAT SAVED, THEIR TRIBE!
I told one of my Native American friends, about the Indian Law Week, and she showed me some, cards, that she had just found, out near some, garbage can, new, and with, scenes from, early, American scenes, of people, tee pees, animals, and braves . . . as she showed me, one of the cards, she told me, the story behind the picture of a mother and daughter, who were kicked out of the tribe, as it crossed over, the land, asking, or telling, the male leaders, to do this or that, until, they finally, got sick and tired of these women, I guess, bitching and moaning, and suggesting this or that, so they kicked them out of the tribe and left them alone, to die in the weather and elements. The two women, watched as the tribe, single file, left them, to fend for themselves.
After a tough winter, and with almost, half the tribe, sick, tired and almost starving to death, the Native leaders, decided, that their path, was not a wise on, and turned, to retrace, the steps they had taken, earlier in the year, only to find, the mother and daughter, they left for dead, thriving, and surviving on, prime fishing holes, with tons of game, and big animals, to hunt, trap, kill and eat. The women, were not bitter, nor did they, make much of their, not so bad, abandonment by the tribe, but they willingly, shared all the knowledge they had gain, in the time of separation, and were later, made, and honored as a queen and princess, in the tribe, and set in high esteem, for, basically, saving the whole tribe, that had once, shunned them, for their outspoken natures! Early American feminists!
My own, daughter, has a masters, degree in natural resource management, was accepted to the law school here, but her husband, didn't want to leave Utah! She would love this story, and, no doubt, would love to be able to sit in on some of these sessions! She has heard of me, talk of the Indian Nation, friends, issues, water compacts, and would, I am sure, ring her husband's neck for, refusing to leave Utah, to venture into law at the U of M! THERE IS STILL TIME HONEY . . . ACTUALLY, SHE KNOWS ENOUGH ABOUT THE LAW, LEARNING, FROM MOM'S CASES, THAT SHE UNDERSTANDS, A LOT OF THE ISSUES, THAT, ANYONE DEALING WITH, NATURAL RESOURCES, DOES, AND SHE IS FINDING A NICHE IN POLICY, A POLICY GENIUS, FIGURING OUT WILD LANDS FIRE FIGHTING!
