THE TV SHOW "COLD CASE" IS SO AMAZING AND TIMELY, GIVES UP A GLIMPSE INTO OLD TIMES AND OLD BELIEFS, AND THE CRIMES, COMMITTED, IN THOSE ERAS!

• semi-pro ball player, best on the team, realizes he is gay, has a male lover, a law student, his parents, just try to ignore it, and when he is jumped, by some of his team mates, and murdered, his parents do little to solve the murder, until, his mother, EVOLVES, and seeks to catch the killer and bring him or them to justice!
• the beautiful daughter of a rich bootlegger, living in a mansion, is about, to be betrothed or asked to be engaged, by one of the most eligible bachelors, in the city . . . but this college age girl, is captivated by the WOMEN'S SUFFRAGIST MOVEMENT, and soon, takes her families maid who is being beaten by her husband and they start to attend, the meetings. until her very traditionalist, mother and father find out, and, demand she stop going to the meetings, or she will be disinherited, thrown out of the house, and, the maid fired.  She complies for awhile, but she, sneaks, to the meetings and the woman, leading the movement, can see the new face of the women's movement in this girl, and she trusts her, because she, herself, came from, an aristocratic family, and left it all behind for the cause!  Her father told her she was dead to him. Her mother tried to tell her of the plight of women, in the early 1900's, being so reliant on men, with her daughter, wanting to change that, going to the legislators, and men in charge.  The daughter, calls off, her engagement, while she is in jail, having been arrested, meeting with the suffragists, and, her father, disowns her, and when, she goes to the house, to plead with her mother, they get in a fight, or physical confrontation, and the girl, falls to her death, over the second balcony of the mansion.  Nobody looks into the murder.
• back in the 50's, two young, handsome, married cops, are sharing a beer in the backyard, and, they get into an argument, start to fight, wrestle, and then, one of them, grabs the other and kisses him.  At first there is denial, but, eventually, the two realize they have feelings for each other. Other, cops, suspect, one of the dudes of being gay, and they chide him, in the locker room, and the other comes to his defense, later, some cops, spy on a conversation between the two, and realize, they are both gay, and one is trying to convince his lover to leave his wife and kid, and they should run away, before, they get in trouble . . . they consider themselves the lucky ones . . . that night, a staged, set-up, on at least one of the gay cops, is called out from dispatch, after the one cops, refuses to give up his wife and baby, he lets this other lover, go on the call, himself, even having a gut feeling that, the cops are going to beat him up, or even worse kill him . . .or by the time he realizes, what could be happening, he runs to his lover's side, only to find, he was called under the bridge and he was shot by fellow officers, who thought he was, tainting the police department, and the orders came from old upper level cops, protecting the reputation of the men and cops.
• I WANT TO SAY, ALL OF THESE EPISODES ARE SO WELL DONE AND SO TIMELY, AND, BY THE END OF THEM, I AM GENERALLY CRYING!  IF YOU NEED SENSITIVITY TRANING, WATCH AND FEW OF THESE . . . OFTEN, THE REASON THESE CASES ARE SO HARD TO SOLVE IS THAT, PEOPLE, YOU WOULD NEVER EXPECT, ARE THE KILLERS, SOME FOR LOVE, SOME FOR MERCY, AND OTHER MURDERS BY ACCIDENT!  ALL TEAR JERKERS!
• most of these cold cases, do not, get looked at, unless, someone, comes in and kicks the case into high gear again.  Many of these cases are 20 to even 68 years old!
• this one is called, BOY CRAZY, and, this new kid, moves in the high school, looks, scrawny, and small, but, this chick, sends who she thinks is a dude, but small, a note, saying, she thinks, he is swell, or something, back in the 60's, or so.  One of the school, hoods or bully's, grabs the note, and, reads it out loud, then grabs, the small boy, and pulls his shirt open, and announces tht this is not a dude, but a chick, or girl!  The principle, calls the girl who goes by Sam, in his office and tells her, from now on, she is to wear a dress to school, we had to until, about our senior year, with few days of exceptions, back in the early 70's, and she is to go by the name of Samantha her given girl name.  She protests, and refuses, her father supports her, tells the principle, that, her mother died when, she was three, and for all intents and purposes, this girl, is the boy, daddy never had.  One night, her and this other kids, both without friends, hook up, over cars . . . the girl was forced to take home-economics, rather than the shop class she wanted to take, but I think she met this kid in that class, and like him, still, dressing and looking like a guy.  Her dream was to build her own car, so she was into cars and learned a lot from her dad.  That night, her and her new guy friend, challenged the bully, who continued to taunt the young girl, dressed like a guy, to a drag race.  The male side of the misfits, said, if I beat you, I get your girl for the night, referring to one of the girlie girls, watching.  Then, the girl dressed like a boy, jumped in the car and told the boy, she liked, they would be partners.  They won the race and the bully was pissed!  The guy friend asked her what she did to the car . . . she put alcohol she was drinking into the engine!  After that incident, the girl dressed like a guy, gained some popularity, at least notoriety and she started to make fun of the chicks, who wore tons of make-up, and, stuff their bras, before, boob jobs, and, the bullies chick, got pissed, and said, this new girl was going to pay, and as the made up girl, walked away, the dude chick, pulled her hair extensions, showing, her statement about being all natural, was most likely a lie, just like her long extension on her hair!  Boyfriend, and his friends, were pissed too.  The girl embarrassed, followed, the car geeks, down to the lake where they were sharing a beer, together and just talking.  Then, the young guy asked, his new and only friend, is she looked like a guy, was she gay or did she like girls?  NO!  Then he asked her who she liked, like dah, and she grabbed him and kissed him.  He reacted, strange, and pushed her away.  What are you doing, never be my friend again.  This was seen by the gal who got her secrets revealed in front of everyone, and from that point on, all the guys, knowing the dude girl was, sweet on guys, said she had to wear lipstick and dresses, and one day they all hold her down, and put lipstick on her, as she is kicking and screaming.  Her friend, stands by in horror at their actions and ganging up on her.  The principal gets called in and she is asked to move schools.  Her friend is sad, and is sorry he doesn't stick up for her.  Her father is called and they are going to have to move schools, one more time.  He hears of this "gender identification school" where they call Tom-Boys, girls with a sickness, and they treat them, and teach them how to be feminine to dress like a girl, to put on make-up, and, how to behave, like young ladies.  One day, this nurse, who later comes forward, and tells of the treatment, this girl gets, and admits it was extreme, because, Sam had too much fight in her and knew there was nothing wrong with her, she just liked doing guy things, but the nurse, said, what doctor, listens to a nurse?  But she regretted that she didn't do more to save her .. . she was given, ECT or Electrical Shock Treatment, to cure her, boyish tendencies, seeing that as abnormal, rather than, just a choice, she made.  Eventually, they, turn her into a vegetable, put make up on her, and, dress her up in a red, party dress.  She is catatonic, when, her former, guy friend comes to see her.  When they were friends, before the kiss, either he or she, I think made a statement about always, remaining free.  He sees her and cries, at the state she is in, and can't stand seeing this free spirit, fun girl, laying, all made up in bed, unable to say a thing.  He decides to set her free, puts a pillow over her face and kills her.  Then, he takes her to a popular hangout, and throws her off the bridge to a soft, grassy landing, where her beautiful body, is, laying there, with the red, in the lush green grass, often seen as a refuge, for, wildlife and protected, from the waters that rushed by . . . the boy turned man, loved her all his life, but he was charged with her murder.
• BIG MAN ON CAMPUS . . . ALL THE GIRLS WANTED TO DATE HIM, ALL THE GUYS WANTED TO BE HIM, EVEN SPOKE AT THE UNIVERSITY GRADUATION, BUT WAS KILLED, LATER THAT NIGHT.  ALL BUT BEING A SERIAL RAPIST, HE WAS THE PERFECT GUY, SERVED THE HOMELESS, GOT PERFECT GRADES, GOT THE GREAT JOB AFTER COLLEGE, BUT FOR HIS, PENCHANT FOR RAPING COLLEGE GIRLS!  This dude had the idea, that even if they say, NO, they really mean, YES!  Up to the point, he was murdered, actually, by the younger brother, of one of the victims, with their parents, dead, she went to college and took care of her younger brother, but after being picked up in the library, taken to dinner, she was raped, by Mr. Big Man on Campus, and as girls started to share their stories of being raped, by this same guy, all connected by his signature, puck up, a pen with a fake rose, on the end, left at the scene or with each girl, some who tried to get him arrested, others who suffered in silence, making seeing him around campus, smiling, laughing and having fun with his next victim, one committing suicide.  all the girls were writing on the walls of the bathroom at the university where no guys could see and tell him, until one night, they all decided to meet and go kill him.  Some cops, a female, tried to get him, but she saw, the way the all male police department circled the wagons around him, back in I believe, 1988, and she strongly discouraged girls from even trying, but with the young women, who, was taking care of the kid, she was particularly pained by her lack of ability to help, so she gave the girl her service revolver and said, if he ever comes, back again, you are protecting your brother and this si self defense.  So the girls all, come out of nowhere and surround, the not so big, after all, rapist, facing, several of the ladies he raped, and one holding a gun, on him, until he peed his pants . .. they wanted him to admit that he raped them.  He did and coward, up against a pillar begging the girls, who took an oath of silence.  But the chick holding the gun, couldn't shot him.  Some tried to get her to shoot him, but, she refused, and dropped the gun in the waste can that was over his head . . . all the girls left, but the little brother, followed his sister to the site and, when he tried to talk the 12 old kid with no parents out of shooting him, he moved closer and the kid, said he had to do this for his sister's safety and shot him dead.  Nobody knew, even his sister.  Later, as the cold case detectives, removed, suspect after suspect, and figured it out, with the young boy now an attorney for his sister, a suspect, and as he told her not to say anything, but as she filled in the fact and all the girls, didn't do it, they looked the brother attorney, and the sister, realized he did it,and she tried to take the blame for his crime . . .  there was an interesting, approach the detectives took, with the female lead, basically, coaching the attorney, then a young boy, how to get out of the charges, with his sister begging him . . . . making a case for self-defense, with the lead homicide chief, and other detectives, turning off the intercom, and, saying they didn't hear anything, right, and, the male detective, joining her, along with the sister, as the boy, now a man, realized to him, at that age, he really did feel this, big man, both physically, towering over him, might have, used the gun on him as he tried to coach the kid out of dropping the gun.
