HOW TO CATCH A SERIAL KILLER ON ONLY CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE!

• it is amazing that the cops or shop keeper, caught these guys . . . they had a system.
• in the Bay area, I believe, but in a smaller jurisdiction, people were going missing at an alarming rate.  Now, most people show up, within several days, and some, 500 per year back in 1990 whatever, went missing, but, most of those people showed up again, but, in this case, these people did not . . . I believe there were about 12 people missing, and, three of those were a family, of a husband, wife and child, that caused concern.
• I am not sure, I can do justice, but I will try, didn't have paper to take notes, and, this was a complicated, long case, that spanned, time and jurisdictions, complications it even more!
• a shop keeper, caught, an Asian man, shoplifting, at a lumber or hardware store . . . this was, Ng, who threw the vice grip, and, ran, while, his partner, Lake, came to his rescue, but nobody connected the two men, at that point, and said he paid for the grip, but the owner, didn't listen and the cops came.  They checked the rust colored, small Nissan, that the shoplifter was, driving, and found, another man's I.D. in the car.  They took Lake into custody, having claimed the car as his.  The cops left the room, leaving Lake to write his statement and story, of the facts, and, when they came back he was flipping on the floor like a fish out of water, and, they discovered that he had taken pills with cyanide in them, and he died.  Ng was alleged to have run to Chicago, and the cops raced to the airport and sure enough, an Asian fitting the description, of Ng, had, purchased a ticket to Chicago, where Ng had relatives and a large network of friends, to hide him.  The cops were frustrated and had to wait until, Ng showed up on some video . . . in the mean time, they started to talk to Lake's ex-wife and others
• when, Lake, killed himself, he wrote a note before, he died and apologized to his mother and his ex-wife.  The cops started there, and, the ex-wife, to their surprise was there with Lake's mother, when, they came.  AS they questioned her, about his comings and goings, and did she know this person or that person, some, neighbors who had gone missing, she was, sort of cooperative, but also, not very.  She mentioned a cabin and property the two had owned together, while married, and, she reluctantly, said she would take the cops there tomorrow.  The told her not to move anything, that might be evidence.
• now at the time, I believe, a massive county, with tons of rural places, had to be policed, by, like, just a dozen or so, sheriffs.  The investigating officers, took about 7 or 8 people with them, to the cabin.  The cops discovered that, the ex-wife and the mother, had been up there the night before, like they told them not to . . . they said Lake was, not a neat house keeper and they wanted to clean the place up a bit before the cops came.  There was a cement bunker in the yard, but, the ex, would not allow the cops to look in it.  They looked around the house and found, pictures of a dozen or so, young women, posing in various stages of undressing.  They could not tell if they were doing this voluntarily, or being forced to pose.  This gave them probable cause for a search warrant, but, while they were there, they didn't want to upset the ex-wife, because the search was voluntary.  They found, a secret door, that led, to another room.  The female detective noticed that, the bed, had, wrist and ankle ties, bored through the posts, that looked like they were trying their victims down, and, who knows what they were doing to them.  Then, they discovered a video, not sure where exactly this came in, but I think on that initial visit to the cabin, but there was a video of two women, being sexually molested, had their clothing cut off, and, were treated, very roughly and bad, by Ng and Lake.  Ng was seen in the tape, with his shirt off, and, looked like he forced one of the women, to give him a back rub.  Ng had been a Marine, formerly an immigrant to the country.  One of the women, was, the wife, and mother, from the missing family.  She begged for her child, and Ng, said that it was better that the child was dead!  The cops were shocked, stunned and dying when they saw this very graphic video, of the type of stuff that the women were made to do, and suffer.  The found, a list of the RULES OF THE MASTER/SLAVE AGREEMENT, hanging on the walls of the back room, behind the secret room, that also had some toiletries and toilet paper.
• several of the cops, noticed that there were 7 burn piles, around the yard, and when they started to dig, they found, all kinds of property and items from the victims, like belts, clothing, necklace, etc.  As they looked closer, they found, bone fragments, that looked, like about 10 lbs. of bones, that appeared to have been, burned, and distributed around the property.  None of the fragments were large enough to identify people.
• the cops got a search warrant, and returned, and it took, weeks, to excavate the property for all the clothing items, and, bone fragments, that ended up being, about 40 lbs of bones.  There were also, several burned out cars that belong to the victims.  Some of these people, had been friends of the men.  
• the family, that had been kidnapped, advertised, the husband's, video equipment, for rent, he did weddings, and was willing to rent out the equipment, for others, when he was not using it.  As the victim's apartment was searched, they found that the husband was, a great person to document, his purchases, and he kept every receipt and, invoice, plus, serial numbers and warranties on his property.  The cop chick, got all the serial numbers of the video and audio equipment and, they tracked that, and found, some of the video equipment at the cabin, I believe and some of the other, stuff at Ng's apartment, tying him to the murders, and sexual assaults, and the baby killing.
• Lake also had both videos of himself, talking about his 20 year fantasy, called, The Miranda Project, where he described his sick, ideas and what he wanted to do with the women.  They also found a journal, that, he documented, the people, he kidnapped, or lured, or killed, and the rapes, and tortures.  This proved, helpful, in knowing what the two had done, but, Lake was dead, and Ng, still on the run.
• eventually, Ng, did what he had done to start this hole case against him, in the first place, he was in British Columbia, and he tried to shoplift, again, and some, security guard, tackled him, after he pulled a gun out of his backpack, when the guard told him to take the item out and return it.  A struggle over the gun ensued, and, the security guard was shot through the hand, but he did get the gun and other guard came to his rescue.  They finally had, Ng.  But this created a jurisdictional nightmare.  BC doesn't recognize extradition, when the person is going to face the death penalty.  With 12 possible, murders, he was involved, in the prosecutor wanted to ask for the death penalty. Eventually the prosecutors struck a deal, that Canada would, try him first, then, send him to the United States to stand trial.  That took 4 years!
• due to the limited resources of Calvaris County, California, the case, was, I believe, assigned to the attorney generals office, and the tons of evidence, was moved, too.  Ng. had become, quite the scholar on the American justice system and he told his cellmates, that to beat the system, all you had to do was keep firing your attorney, which he did.  Finally, they got Ng to trial, but, he was so disruptive, that the judge ordered, a shock, belt be put on him!  LOL.  I have never heard of that, and, if he acted out in court, like he had, the belt would shock him!
• there was a very sharp female attorney, Asian, and she, was able to take all the circumstantial evidence and, either, tie it together for the jury, or she, even was, cunning enough to trick the defendant, or Ng, into admitting, some facts, that had not been released, and, only the killer would know, some term or something connected with the case, that took him, form, drawing about killing the child, to actually, being tied to the murder!  Ng had draw graphic pictures for his British cellmate who ratted him out to the prosecutors and cops.  The rat died in a car accident, with, some, $20,000 in cash from his $33,000, that the government had given him for his testimony and coming forward with the drawings, that, Ng did.  The prosecution was able to bring his testimony in, as evidence,  However the defense was not allowed to take Lake's journal, into evidence, when he was trying to prove, that it was all Lake, and his wife, who got immunity, and gave little to cops who were responsible for the murders.  The judge, said he was not going to allow, the defense to bring in a journal and take out every reference to Ng, out, and then, enter it into evidence, and rightly so!  From the way, the ex-wife, testified, but now with immunity, she may have, actually had more to do with the killings than the cops originally thought, but it was too late and she was actually more helpful to the defense!
• contrary to his attorneys, suggestions, Ng, who threatened to fire his attorneys, if they didn't let him testify, did testify, and did more damage, when the skilled, prosecutor for the state, was able to get, him, to hang himself, with, contradictory testimony.  He said he forgot . . . 
• he was eventually sentenced to death. 
• I am sure, that I left out half of the cool circumstantial evidence and how the proesturos tied it all together, but, you get my point, that, sometimes the most, innocuous, event, like a small, shoplifting case, can blossom into, this massive, case of catching two serial killers and discovering tons of dead bodies!  I have tried to lead cops to where I think the bodies are buried, but, they don't appear to be listening, to really anything I say and that may be, because, this blog gets hacked, and all the good stuff, is taken out first!

WHAT DOES SOMEONE WHO IS GUILTY OF A CRIME LOOK LIKE?

• this is a case, I saw the other day, about a young girl's impression of her, father, and his mysterious behavior . . . compare that to my behavior . . . very different!
• this was a family of four, mom, dad, and two kids, one son and one daughter.  
• the girl's first memory of something being wrong with her father, or possible, criminal behavior, was, after his, I believe, pawn shop burned down . . . dad was somewhat injured, and the store completely ruined, but the father, in the hospital, assured his wife and kids all would be well, because he had insurance on the shop.
• from that time on, the girl, could never remember her father working, nor her mother for that matter, but they always had food, clothing, and, shelter, but, they had to move all the time?
• one time, before, a move, the family was staying in a motel for a few days or weeks, and, all the sudden, mom and dad are gone, and, some man called on the phone and asked for someone named, Mr. Weir?  The girl answered the phone and said, there was nobody by that name, at the motel.  Then, they called back and asked, again, about the Weir's?  Then they asked if the boy and girl's mother or father were home?  No.  Then a cop and the manager, showed up at the door, while mom and dad were out of the motel.  The cop asked if they were the "Weir's?" and they said, yes and showed the cop some I.D., a driver's license, and whatever.  The cop was satisfied and the manager and the cop left.  They moved to Montana . . . 
• I believe they went from, Colorado, to Montana, to Washington, then to Alaska.  The father, would, each year, disappear for a week or two weeks, then, come back and everything would go on as normal, and the young girl, just assumed that, her father was dealing in rare coins, because, often at night, he would have, coins, and related materials, to support that idea, laying on the table.
• one night, the family was out in their property, having coffee and hot chocolate and, they heard, a strange sound of dogs or hounds.  The son thought it was just someone hunting.  The dad was not sure.  He got the family up on the porch, and some man, was walking around, and came up, asking about, houses for sale in that area?  The father had a worried look on his face and all the sudden he told the kids they had to move.
• in one of these locations, I believe, Montana, all the sudden, during breakfast, dad, suddenly had to leave, and he took off.  Some time after that, cops came to the door looking for him. this time it was the FBI.  The cops asked some questions, but at the time, the family didn't know where their father and dad was?  They asked about, two murders, in Colorado?  The family didn't know anything about it.  The FBI seemed satisfied and told them, to be careful, and that they wanted to talk to their father.

• the FBI showed up in Alaska, and told the family, that the father had been arrested in Montana, and he was wanted for the murders of two people, and, he might be guilty of several more murders!  The girl was shocked, and could not believe that her father, put his needs and that of his family over, these people, and murdered them, to put food on his table and a roof over his kids, heads!  He might have been responsible for up to 10 murders over the years.

• I didn't commit any crimes, leaving the state, I sued the state, for $356.7 million; sued Iron County for %56.7 million; had cases, against 6 entities in Nevada, including the Las Vegas Review Journal, where the exchange, with, a very guilty, sister, Shelley, posing with the CIA, and meeting with my client, whom she had met, Tom Vail, my client, and from that point, I never heard from this menace and pest, who bugged the shit out of my for a goddamned, year and a half, but I was temped and did work for 13 rd of the law suits, we both worked on, me, coaching, Tom and him doing a lot of the work but me having the muscle, name, reputation, and power to kick them into high gear!  There was $700 million worth the cases on my desk and a waiting list of a year and a half for people who wanted me to be their attorney, in more civil rights case, this #2 in the nation for civil rights, attorney!
• when, cases started to be, stolen, and people started dying mysteriously, and, the combined police forces of the state, local and federal government started leaning on me, because, of Mitt Romney, and other, Republican issues, like wanting the Forbes, and Fortune 500 class of financial planners, to think that a GOP attorney, did this amazing, smack down, of the SEC, and other, government agencies, including Homeland Security and the Department of Justice, and yes, I was the little girl, staring down, the golden bull of Wall Street, and Wall Street itself!  My Republican state wanted bragging right to me, and so did the Mormon church!

CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. is an American cybersecurity technology company based in Sunnyvale, California. The company provides endpoint security, threat intelligence, and cyberattack response services.^[1] The company has been involved in investigations of several high profile cyber-attacks, including the Sony Pictures hack,^[2] the 2016 Democratic National Committee email leak, and the Democratic National Committee cyber attacks.^[3]

The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc.

According to the company, its customers include 44 of the Fortune 100 and 37 of the 100 top global companies.^[4]

CrowdStrike was co-founded by George Kurtz (CEO),^[5][6] Dmitri Alperovitch (CTO),^[7] and Gregg Marston (CFO, retired) in 2011.^[8][9] In 2012, Shawn Henry, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) executive who led both the FBI's criminal and cyber divisions, was hired to lead sister company CrowdStrike Services, Inc., which focused on proactive and incident response services.^[10] In June 2013, the company launched its first product, CrowdStrike Falcon.^[11] The company became known for providing threat intelligence and attribution to nation state actors^[12] that are conducting economic espionage and IP theft.^[13]

In May 2014, supported by CrowdStrike's reports, the United States Department of Justice charged five Chinese military hackers for economic cyber espionage against United States corporations. CrowdStrike also uncovered the activities of Energetic Bear, an adversary group connected to the Russian Federation that conducted intelligence operations against global targets, primarily in the energy sector.

After the public Sony Pictures hack, CrowdStrike produced evidence implicating the government of North Korea within 48 hours, and demonstrated how the attack was carried out.^[14] In 2014, CrowdStrike played a major role in identifying members of Putter Panda, the state-sponsored Chinese group also known as PLA Unit 61486, as the perpetrators of a number of cyberattacks on U.S. infrastructure and defense, as well as on European satellite and aerospace industries.^[15][16]

In 2014 and 2015, CRN Magazine named the company to its Top Emerging Vendors List.^[17] In May 2015, the company released researcher Jason Geffner's discovery of VENOM, a critical flaw in an open-source hypervisor called Quick Emulator (QEMU),^[18] which is used in a number of common virtualization products. This vulnerability could allow attackers to access sensitive personal information.^[19] In October 2015, CrowdStrike announced that it had identified Chinese hackers attacking technology and pharmaceutical companies immediately before and after President Barack Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping publicly agreed not to use cyber-spies to conduct economic espionage against the other. The alleged hacking would have been in violation of that agreement.^[20]

In 2016, the company was ranked #40 on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, North America list,^[21] and Inc. named CrowdStrike as one of America's 500 fastest-growing companies.^[22]

CrowdStrike released research in 2017 showing that 66 percent of the attacks to which the company responded that year were fileless or malware-free. The company also compiled data on the average time needed to detect an attack and the percentage of attacks detected by organizations themselves.^[23] In 2017 and 2018, CrowdStrike was listed on LinkedIn’s Top Companies: Start Ups,^[24][25] on the Forbes Cloud 100,^[26][27] and as one of the CNBC Disruptor 50.^[28][29]

In February 2018, CrowdStrike reported that in November and December 2017 it had observed a credential harvesting operation in the international sporting sector, with possible links to the cyber attack on the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.^[30] That same month, Crowdstrike released research showing that 39 percent of all attacks observed by the company were malware-free intrusions. The company also named which industries attackers most frequently targeted.^[31] That March, the company released a version of its Falcon product for mobile devices and launched the CrowdStrike store, which opens the Falcon platform to third-party applications.^[32]

In January 2019, CrowdStrike published research reporting that Ryuk ransomware, used by cyber actor Grim Spider to target businesses, had accumulated more than $3.7 million in cryptocurrency payments since it first appeared in August.^[33]

Also in 2019, CrowdStrike released its 2018 Global Threat Report, which ranked cybercriminals in order of fastest actors to operate within a network, with Russia coming in first.^[34][35] The company also revealed that it tracked 81 named state-sponsored actors in 2018, and at least 28 were conducting active operations throughout the year. The research showed that of the sophisticated attacks that the company attributed to nation-states, China was responsible for the plurality: more than 25 percent.^[36]

Funding[edit]

In July 2015, Google invested in the company's Series C funding round, which in total raised $100 million. Series D in May 2017 brought in $100 million,^[37] and Series E in June 2018 brought in $200 million.^[38] In total, as of May 2019, the company has raised more than $480 million in funding.^[39] In June 2018, the company said it was valued at more than $3 billion.^[40] Investors include Telstra, March Capital Partners, Rackspace, Accel Partners and Warburg Pincus.^[41][42]

As of 2017, CrowdStrike received $256 million of funding. Its estimated annual revenue at the time was $100 million, with a valuation of more than $1 billion.^[43] Investors included Telstra, March Capital Partners, Rackspace, Accel Partners and Warburg Pincus.^[44][45]

In June 2019, the company made its IPO on the NASDAQ.^[46][47]

Russian hacking investigations[edit]

CrowdStrike helped investigate the Democratic National Committee cyber attacks and connected those attacks to Russian intelligence services. On March 20, 2017 during testimony before congress, James Comey stated "CrowdStrike, Mandiant, and ThreatConnect review[ed] the evidence of the hack and conclude[d] with high certainty that it was the work of APT 28 and APT 29 who are known to be Russian intelligence services."^[48]

In December 2016, CrowdStrike released a report stating that Russian government-affiliated group Fancy Bear had hacked a Ukrainian artillery app.^[49] They concluded that Russia had used the hack to cause large losses to Ukrainian artillery units. The app (called ArtOS) is installed on tablet PCs and used for fire-control.^[50] The earliest version of the app (supported until 2015) was called POPR-D30 and installed on Android phones and tablets. CrowdStrike found a hacked variation of POPR-D30 being distributed on Ukrainian military forums that utilized an X-Agent implant.^[51]

The International Institute for Strategic Studies rejected CrowdStrike's assessment of hacking causing losses to Ukrainian artillery units, saying that their data on Ukrainian D30 howitzer losses was misused by CrowdStrike in their report. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense also rejected the CrowdStrike report, stating that actual artillery losses were "several times smaller than the number reported by [CrowdStrike] and are not associated with [Russian hacking]".^[52]

Cybersecurity firm SecureWorks discovered a list of email addresses targeted by Fancy Bear in phishing attacks.^[53] The list included the email address of Yaroslav Sherstyuk, the developer of ArtOS.^[54] Additional Associated Press research supports CrowdStrike's conclusions about Fancy Bear.^[55] Radio Free Europe notes that the AP report "lends some credence to the original CrowdStrike report, showing that the app had, in fact, been targeted."^[56]

Following CrowdStrike's investigation of the 2016 Democratic National Committee hacks, journalist Yasha Levine questioned CrowdStrike's methodology, citing it as "forensics in reverse."^[57]

In the Trump-Ukraine controversy, a transcript of a conversation between Donald Trump, the president of the United States, and Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine,Trump asked Zelensky to "... find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine, they say CrowdStrike..."^[58]
