• most perpetrators develop an MO because once a plan works a couple of times they gain confidence in it and believe it lowers their risk of getting caught. 
• but with, violent, repetitive offenders, there is something else operating.  These people are driven by anger.  This anger leads them to fantasize about violence, and eventually they will act out theiir fantasies.
• but the violence isn't enough.  They evolve rituals for expressing anger.  It's rituals for expressing the anger.  It's these rituals that give them away . . . usually they involve controlling, maybe humiliating the victim.
• you see, it isn't really the victim that's important.  Her age, her appearance may be irrelevant.  It's the need to express the anger.  I did one guy whose victims ranged from 7 to 81 years in age . . . but the critical thing is he does these things as part of his fantasy enactment, his anger dissipation ritual, not just to cover his ass . . . sexual sadists are turned on by their victims' pain.
• they don't just want to kill, they want their victims to suffer.  And it is critical--they are sexually aroused by it . . . sounds like sexual saddism is possibility.
• the real question remains, was the killer sexually aroused by his action?  Serial killers whether sexual saddists or not, are very cunning . . . sexual saddists love their own press . . . the  fantasy isn't just the kill.
• the stalk before and the reenactment afterward can be a big part of the turn on.
• most of them feel the are superior to the cops.  Too smart to get caught .. . what you wan to look for is that signature that calling card that onnly your killer leaves.  That's how you'll nail him, regardless of how psychiatrics classify him. Using the Metro and newspaper could figure into your boy's fantasies.  Press has the meaning of agent.
• excessive violence and cruelty suggest extreme anger.  Possible revenge or retaliation, possible saddistic fantasies involving domination, humiliation, pain.
• possible religious overlay . . . looks like we've got a homeboy . . . fire ants would have less effect on my face.  Tinfool.  Tissue.  At first they might just engage in peeping, or obscene phone calls.
• some stay with that, others move on to bigger challenges: self-exposure, stalking, even breaking and entering.  For still others that's not enough; they progress to rape and even murder . . . a victim's behavior can alter the equation . . .
• don't forget, most serial killers have never met their victims.  But these women star in the fantasy, or he might see one woman in one role, and cast another differently.  Love your wife, then, got out and kill.  Cast one as prey, another as friend.
