The overlords of Butte will not permit their right to exploit to be challenged.  Drunk with unbridled power and the countless millions profiteered during the war, with lying praises of "law and order" on their lips, the blood of workingmen on their hands, and gold of the government bursting their coffers, they feed the nation unreprimanded and unashamed--under militant, capitalism at its worst.  The copper trust can murder its slaves in broad daylight on any occasion and under any pretext.  There is no law to call halt.  In the confines of this greed--ruled city, the gunman has replaced the Constitution.  Butte is a law unto itself.

COPPER KINGS, DAVIS, CLARK, DAILY, ROTHCHILD, AND OTHERS CONNECTED TO THE ANACONDA MINING COMPANY, CAME TO BUTTE TO MAKE MONEY!

After the federal government, came into aid the mining company, and the Butte police, handle the mass of striking men, when, 15, later 16 unarmed men were gunned down, on the streets of Butte, in a strike, marching against the war, and being forced to work under unsafe conditions for less money, because the copper was needed for the war efforts, seeing it their patriotic duty, to work for less than before, therefore, collectively, being seen as unpatriotic, trouble makers, and draft dodgers, the miners were forced to go back to work under any conditions and circumstances the copper kings wanted, all in the name of being pro-American and aiding in the war efforts, that made all these men, very wealthy, later to rape the land, leave the towns, as ghost towns, and taking their money back east, there they had mainly come from, laying to waste, Butte, and Montana!  Rumors circulated that the Germans, had put the striking miners up to the march, through covert operations within the rank and file of the union organizers.  The men's rallying cry was:

"A MAN IS WORTH MORE THAN A MULE!  WAR IS HELL, WE DO NOT WANT IT!"

Butte, Montana was put under Marshall Law for four years!

BLACKLISTS AND PRIVATE EYES

Congress woman, Rankin, was seen as the Lady in Distress, for defending and supporting the strikers and asking Congress for better conditions for the miners . . . she was met with total resistance, and shut down . . . keep troubled workers off the streets, with the Company treating the miners, as little more than chattel or the property of the mining company!  A group known as Pinkerton Detectives, started looking into the mines and listening on the streets of Butte, and making notes, on who were seen as trouble makers, and who were not, and then reporting back to their bosses.

Perhaps, this is where the top cops, got the idea for using my sisters and former friends, as my surrogates, looking at, men, and saying this one is trouble, talking against the company, or expressing the need for change, then, on the same set of notes, they would remark, that the brother of this or that man, doesn't complain, and obeys!
